13th Annual True Patriot Love Tribute Gala FAQ

General Questions

In an effort to keep our community safe and healthy during the ongoing pandemic, we will be bringing you the True Patriot Love 13th Annual Tribute Gala in a virtual format. The event will feature many of the same elements from our past in-person Galas, including True Patriot Love’s impact videos, a powerful Fund-A-Need segment, entertainment, and our silent auction that will include our signature helmet pieces. Whether you decide to tune in to our online Gala during a private evening for two or you choose to host a small gathering of friends or associates from your social circle, you’ll be able to join us in honouring the military and Veteran community from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Tables will open at 6 p.m. ET for the cocktail reception where guests can interact and network with others at their virtual table. The formal programming will begin at 7 p.m. ET and will highlight the impact your support has allowed True Patriot Love to have across the country through impact videos, a powerful Fund-A-Need segment and more.

The formal program should wrap up at approximately 8 p.m. ET.

Following the formal program, tables will reopen for networking!

All tickets/table sales must be purchased by November 3, 2021.

Any tickets purchased after this date will be subject to Gala Celebration Box delivery delays, but we will do our best to accommodate you.

Gala Celebration Box and Meal Box

Gala Celebration Boxes and Meal Boxes are available nationwide to those who have purchased a ticket.
The Gala Celebration Box will include the event program, a red rose as a Tribute to the Fallen, a poppy and red ribbon to be worn during the show, a jar of local honey, a bottle of Stratus Red Wine and a late night snack.
The Meal Box will include a gourmet three-course dinner with instructions to reheat and plate your meal.
We request that you please include all allergies in the online registration form. If you forgot to include or have any additional requests, please contact Brianna Chase at [email protected].
Our intention is that each Gala Celebration Box/Meal Box is prepared for two people. These boxes will be curated based on the number of attendees watching from your household.

For example, if you are watching it at your home with you and your partner, you will receive one Meal Box and one Gala Celebration Box.

For example, if you are watching it from your home with three other guests, you will receive two Meal Boxes and two Gala Celebration Boxes.

Youth Pre-Event Reception

We wanted to give your entire family the opportunity to attend our Tribute Gala, so we have created youth-friendly content for your children to watch before the main broadcast. The reception will include messages from a Veteran and his family, a craft demonstration and some learning opportunities about Canada’s military.

The Youth Celebration Box will include a craft kit, a poppy and red ribbon to be worn during the show, a branded mug, a specialty hot chocolate kit and a late-night snack.

The Meal Box will include a specialty dinner with instructions to reheat and plate your meal.

Our intention is that each Youth Celebration Box/Meal Box is prepared for one person. These boxes will be curated based on the number of attendees watching from your household.

For example, if you are watching it at your home with two children, you will receive two Meal Boxes and two Youth Celebration Boxes.

Delivery

We are happy to deliver boxes in all provinces and territories.
If attendees wish, they have the opportunity to donate the fees associated with their Meal Box back to True Patriot Love Foundation and its programs.
Yes, when attendees complete the guest registration form they will be asked to confirm the number of people watching the event at their household and the delivery address for their Meal Box and Gala Celebration Box.

If guests from the Greater Toronto Area would like to save True Patriot Love the delivery cost for their Meal Box, they can pick up at the Daniel and Daniel storefront, located at 248 Carlton St, Toronto, ON M5A 2L1. 12-4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10.

Yes, we request that someone is home to accept the delivery. If not, for homes with direct access the boxes will be left at your front door. For condo buildings, boxes will be left with security if accepted.
All boxes will be out for delivery on Tuesday, November 10 between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Curbside pick up is also available at Daniel et Daniel storefront between 12-4 p.m.

Silent and Helmet Auction

The auctions will be run through Givergy, so all you will require is a device (desktop, tablet, mobile device, Smart TV) connected to the internet.
The auction will be open two weeks in advance of the event. Guests will receive communication to confirm. Auctions will close the day after the event, November 11 at 5 p.m. ET
The auction will be open to the public.
The platform we use for auctions includes the option to pay for items secured through successful bids when the auction closes. Winning bidders will be emailed/texted an invoice and can pay online via credit card. Where requested, the Foundation can help facilitate other payment methods, including payment by cheque. Online credit card payments are the preferred payment method to ensure winners receive their item(s) as fast as possible following the auction.
Items will be shipped/couriered to winning bidders following the receipt of payment; alternatively, arrangements can be made for pickup if requested within the GTA.

Guest Experience/Logging into the Show

In order to maintain exclusivity to our event, guests will be emailed with the following information prior to event day: (passwords TBC)

Generic password to access the event landing page.

Table specific password to access the cocktail hour.

On event day you will visit www.truepatriotlovegala.com and be prompted to enter the generic event password.
Guests will click on their table icon for the Cocktail Reception presented by Air Canada and enter their Zoom specific password to network with their fellow table guests.

At 6:55 p.m. ET guests will be prompted to leave their tables and get ready for the show on the main landing page.

Tables will reopen at 8 p.m. ET for a Late Night Reception. At this time, all tables will be left ‘unlocked’ and open for all guests to join. Feel free to message your friends for their table number and you can arrange to meet in one of the virtual rooms. All tables will be open for an hour following the show.

The show will be presented on the main page of the event website starting at 7 p.m. ET. To best view the show, we recommend making the video full-screen.

During the show you will be able to make a donation and participate in the auction and Fund-a-Need segment

While enjoying the Gala from the comfort of your own home, we recommend wearing cocktail attire, as you will still be appearing on camera during the Cocktail Reception. Poppies and slippers are also encouraged!
